What is acne? Before we start, best to know "What is Acne"

Acne a.k.a  Acne Vulgaris
normally human skin disease,

Thanks to : Nada Mrvaljevic http://www.waga.rs/en/

areas : Skin with seborrhea (Scaly Red Skin), comedones (Blackhead and whiteheads), Papules (Pinheads), Nodules (Large papules), pimple, and possible to scarring after pimple has pop,
Acne affect mostly on face, the upper part of the chest, and the back,

for most people, acne diminishes over time and tend to disappear, or at the very least decreases, by age 25, however no way to predict how long it will take to disappear entirely and some will carry this condition well into their 30th, 40th, and above,

Some of the large nodules ( Large papules ) also called "Cysts",The "cysts", or boils that accompany cystic acne, can appear on the buttocks, groin, and armpit area, and anywhere else where sweat collects in hair follicles and perspiration ducts, Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue than does common acne,

Scarring:
Typical features of acne include: seborrhea (increased oil-sebum secretion), comedones, papules, pustules, nodules (large papules), and possibly scarring. The appearance of acne varies with skin color. It may result in psychological and social problems.
Scars

Acne scars are the result of inflammation within the dermis brought on by acne. The scar is created by the wound trying to heal itself resulting in too much collagen in one spot

Physical acne scars are often referred to as "ice pick" scars. This is because the scars tend to cause an indentation in the skin's surface. There is a range of treatments available. Although quite rare, the medical condition atrophia maculosa varioliformis cutis also results in "acne-like" depressed scars on the face.

Ice pick scars:
Deep pits, that are the most common and a classic sign of acne scarring.

Box car scars: Angular scars that usually occur on the temple and cheeks, and can be either superficial or deep, these are similar to chickenpox scars.

Rolling scars: Scars that give the skin a wave-like appearance.
Hypertrophic scars: Thickened, or keloid scars.

Pigmented scars is a slightly misleading term, as it suggests a change in the skin's pigmentation and that they are true scars; however, neither is true. Pigmented scars are usually the result of nodular or cystic acne (the painful 'bumps' lying under the skin). They often leave behind an inflamed red mark. Often, the pigmentation scars can be avoided simply by avoiding aggravation of the nodule or cyst. Pigmentation scars nearly always fade with time taking between three months to two years to do so, although can last indefinitely if untreated.

A severe case of cystic acne
Cystic acne on the back.

there is different types of Acne Vulgaris:
A: Cystic acne on the face,
B: Subsiding tropical acne of trunk,
C: Extensive acne on chest and shoulders.

Pimple, acne, blackhead and whitehead also called "Zit"

Acne normally effect to teen or pre teens, mostly people say 8 out of 10 people have acne, but i would say 10 out of 10, i mean there's is a lot of people out there suffer acne, even adult, acne can effect to girls and boys, yes boy have acne, and teenage boys tend to have longer lasting or more acne than girls,  acne also can occur in babies, toddlers, and children,
most people with acne have number of non-inflamed lesions, or comedones, but not every acne sufferer necessarily suffers from inflamed breakouts,

If a pore gets clogged up and closes but bulges out from the skin, you're left with a whitehead. If a pore gets clogged up but stays open, the top surface can darken and you're left with a blackhead. Sometimes the wall of the pore opens, allowing sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to make their way under the skin — and you're left with a small, red bump called a pimple (sometimes pimples have a pus-filled top from the body's reaction to the bacterial infection).

Clogged pores that open up very deep in the skin can cause nodules, which are infected lumps or cysts that are bigger than pimples and can be painful. Occasionally, large cysts that seem like acne may be boils caused by a staph infection.

Comedones (whiteheads and blackheads) are created when the openings of hair follicles become clogged and blocked with oil secretions, dead skin cells and sometimes bacteria. When comedones (koe-muh-DOE-neez) are open at the skin surface, they're called blackheads because of the dark appearance of the plugs in the hair follicles. When comedones are closed, they're called whiteheads — slightly raised, skin-colored bumps.

Papules are small raised bumps that signal inflammation or infection in the hair follicles. Papules may be red and tender.
Pustules (pimples) are red, tender bumps with white pus at their tips.
Nodules are large, solid, painful lumps beneath the surface of the skin. They're formed by the buildup of secretions deep within hair follicles.
Cysts are painful, pus-filled lumps beneath the surface of the skin. These boil-like infections can cause scars.

Three factors contribute to the formation of acne:

    Overproduction of oil (sebum)
Irregular shedding of dead skin cells resulting in irritation of the hair follicles of your skin
    Buildup of bacteria

Acne occurs when the hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Hair follicles are connected to sebaceous glands. These glands secrete an oily substance known as sebum to lubricate your hair and skin. Sebum normally travels up along the hair shafts and then out through the openings of the hair follicles onto the surface of your skin. When your body produces an excess amount of sebum and dead skin cells, the two can build up in the hair follicles and form together as a soft plug, creating an environment where bacteria can thrive.

This plug may cause the follicle wall to bulge and produce a whitehead. Or, the plug may be open to the surface and may darken, causing a blackhead. Pimples are raised red spots with a white center that develop when blocked hair follicles become inflamed or infected. Blockages and inflammation that develop deep inside hair follicles produce lumps beneath the surface of your skin called cysts. Other pores in your skin, which are the openings of the sweat glands onto your skin, aren't normally involved in acne.
